On the island of Derkop (Mother) live its “offspring”: humanoid beings generated directly from its body.
They are born from fleshy membranes that open like ripe fruits, and they grow on the living island, organized into small communities.

But their cycle is closed: upon reaching maturity, they feel an inner call and are slowly reabsorbed into the mother’s body.
This is how Derkop nourishes itself and expands.

Yuri, the three-thousandth offspring, has blue hair and an androgynous body.
One day, carried by an anomalous current, it is swept away from the island and reaches a human village.

There, it discovers that humans grow without needing to return to their parents’ bodies.
This revelation shakes it: it realizes it was not born to live, but to be consumed. It has never been an individual, only a function.
