Hepeng Sun
I was born on August 28, 2001, in a small city in Zhejiang, China. At the age of eighteen, I came to Italy and enrolled in the Brera Academy of Fine Arts, majoring in Corporate Art Design. As a child, I wanted to be a comic artist, but somehow, in a rather funny way, I ended up on the path of design. Would it sound too materialistic to say it was because of money? Maybe—but that’s probably the truth.
The boundaries between different art disciplines are like bubbles: fragile and easily broken. Over the past few years, I’ve explored a wide range of fields—product design, interior design, architecture, and graphic design—while keeping my own passion for comics and illustration. Through these diverse yet interconnected disciplines, I’ve gradually discovered my own visual language.
As a creator, my only wish is that when I am near death, I can leave something behind in this world through my creativity. Even if what remains ends up forgotten, lying quietly in some neglected corner of reality or the internet, it doesn’t matter. At least, in some way, it might spare me from a second death.
